The most important things I can say about my work is that I work with empathy, with genuineness and in a non-judgmental way. You and I work collaboratively to achieve your goals. I always set out in therapy to make myself obsolete. I want you to understand how you are feeling and learn how to deal with this now and in the future. Obviously feeling better and more in control now is a major aim, but even better is to understand the process by which your problems are maintained. By understanding this you can gain a much greater level of control over your problems now and in the future.

I specialise in evidence based treatment, this means that the primary approaches I use have a significant evidence base, are proven to be effective and are recommended by the NHS, Department of Health and the National Institute of Health and social care (NICE).

The main modalities I use are CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy), IPT (interpersonal psychotherapy) and integrative counselling. Between them CBT and IPT are the recommended treatments for all the problem areas I work with. Click here to see the problems I work with.

I will always treat everything you tell me with the greatest respect. I recognise that it can be really hard to talk to someone about your problems. I always aim to be understanding, warm and empathetic.

The National institute for health and care excellence provides guidance on the most effective treatments for a range of problems based on extensive research evidence.
